Gotthilf Heinrich von Schubert (1780-1860), was a German physician and naturalist who studied theology, changed to medicine, and then to research. He lectured on animal magnetism, clairvoyance and dreams.  These coloured engraving are from “Naturgeschichte des Pflanzenreichs in Bildern.” prepared by Prof. Hochstetter, published by Schreiber and Schill, 1853.
