Coloured map entitled "A. D. 1294. Exhibiting the Empire of Kublai Khan"  He was a grandson of Genghis Khan. In 1271 Kublai established the Yuan dynasty. The Mongol Empire stretched from the Caspian Sea east to the Pacific Ocean. 
Samuel Taylor Coleridge composed the famous poem which starts "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree "
The map is published by Richard Griffin, printed by Gilmour and Dean, circa 1850.
