Westminster Abbey is one of the world’s great churches, with a history stretching back over a thousand years. It has been for many centuries the scene of the coronations of our sovereigns.
This hand coloured copperplate engraving was drawn by John Preston Neale (1780–1847), etched by R.Sands, and engraved by H.Le Keux.
It is from “The History and Antiquities of Westminster Abbey” dedicated by the author, J.P.Neale to the Rev.Thomas Carter of Eton College.
