Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898) Prussian Statesman
was the first Chancellor of the German Empire, known as the "Iron Chancellor." He formed the German Empire in 1871 unifying Germany, while retaining control of Prussia. He
controlled domestic and foreign affairs, until he was removed by the young Kaiser in 1890 at the age of seventy-five.
