Greek Musical Instruments, Weapons and Furniture, or ‘Instrumens de Musique, Armes et meubles des Grecs’ in French, from the ‘Voyage du Jeune Anacharsis en Grece’ by Abbe Bartholomew. This publication documents the Travels of the Young Anacharsis in the middle of the Fourth century before Christianity. Barbie du Bocage, the cartographer and cosmographer, provided the maps which are edited and engraved by Ambroise Tardieu in 1824.
This interesting engraving shows musical instruments such as harps, flutes and a drum. Military arms, such as lances and cnemides. Furniture shows a bed,
tables, a cupboard as well as vases, a carriage, and even the throne of Saturn.
